Letter of support from Michael Ingham

Below is a letter Changing Attitude through St Mark’s Fitzroy received in support of our Midsumma Mass from the Bishop of the Diocese of New Westminster, the Right Reverend Michael Ingham. It provides us with hope and encouragement to continue fighting the good fight in support of full inclusion in the life of the church for LGBT people in Australia.

After Midsumma

Thanks to St Mark’s Fitzroy for hosting a wonderful Midsumma Mass, and for the reverend David Conolly for preaching an inspiring sermon on the night. The singing, the incense, the champagne and sandwiches – all made for a great occasion.

Rev Andrew Eaton, Monica Eaton, Baby Njeri Eaton at Pride March 2012

And thanks to those dedicated souls who marched for Changing Attitude at the Midsumma PRIDE MARCH in St Kilda. We marched proudly in a group with our Roman Catholic brothers and sisters, and were well received as we made our way down Fitzroy Street in St Kilda. We hope next year we can have many more folk join us to show Melbourne there are Anglicans committed to changing attitudes in the church!
